Our portfolio is a a leading commerce distribution and retail company and is currently seeking a National Sales Manager who will be responsible for leading the nationwide sales strategy and execution. This role focuses on expanding the general trade and modern independent channels, driving revenue growth, and optimizing channel marketing strategies to maximize market penetration. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in sales management, with expertise in general trade expansion, retail distribution, and trade/channel marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share targets for beauty products.
  • Identify and assess new market opportunities, focusing on general trade expansion and retail distribution channels.
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Set sales targets, forecast sales budgets, and manage the sales pipeline effectively.

General Trade Expansion

  • Lead initiatives to expand the general trade channels, including acquiring new distributors and expanding the retail network.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners to strengthen market coverage.
  • Negotiate trade terms and ensure alignment with company pricing strategies, discount structures, and promotional activities.
  • Develop and execute trade marketing programs to enhance brand visibility and product availability in general trade channels.

Channel Marketing and Promotions

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop channel-specific marketing strategies and promotional activities.
  • Coordinate with channel partners to implement effective marketing campaigns that drive sales and enhance brand positioning.
  • Monitor the performance of marketing initiatives and make recommendations for optimizing promotional activities to maximize ROI.
  • Oversee merchandising standards and ensure proper execution at the retail level.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor the national sales team, including regional sales managers and sales representatives.
  • Set individual sales targets and KPIs, and monitor the team's performance to ensure alignment with national sales objectives.
  • Provide coaching, support, and feedback to drive continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings to communicate strategy updates, review progress, and motivate the team.

Performance Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze sales performance data to identify areas of improvement and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, market analysis, and action plans to senior management.
  • Monitor key metrics, such as revenue growth, market share, profitability, and channel performance, to ensure targets are met.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in sales management, preferably within the beauty and health industry, with a focus on general trade and retail distribution.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of channel marketing, trade promotions, and retail sales dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in using data to drive decision-making.
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required.
