Responsibilities

The Legal & Compliance Supervisor will assist in overseeing the legal and regulatory aspects of the organization, ensuring that all activities comply with applicable laws and NGO-specific regulations. This role will focus on drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing contracts, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and supporting the organization in legal matters, particularly regarding partnerships, grants, and donor relations. The position plays a critical role in protecting the NGO’s legal interests while supporting its mission and strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law (LLB or equivalent) from a reputable university.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably with a focus on the NGO or non-profit sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract law, compliance regulations, and relevant legislation applicable to NGOs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload efficiently.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in law or related certifications in compliance or NGO governance.
  • Experience working with international donors or in an international NGO environment.
  • Knowledge of grant management and donor compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
