Responsibilities of a Facilities, Safety and Support Manager in a Hospital

Safety and Security Management:

• Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Monitor security systems and coordinate emergency response plans.

Facility Maintenance:

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of hospital facilities and equipment.
• Schedule regular inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Emergency Preparedness:

• Create and conduct drills for fire, natural disasters, and other emergencies.
• Develop crisis management plans and coordinate with local emergency services.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure that the facility complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain documentation and records related to facility inspections and safety audits.

Staff Training:

• Train staff on safety procedures, emergency response, and security protocols.
• Provide ongoing education and updates on best practices in facility management and security.

Budget Management:

• Prepare and manage the budget for facilities and security operations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high standards of safety and security.

Vendor Management:

• Liaise with external vendors for maintenance, security services, and equipment procurement.
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with contracts.

Environmental Management:

• Implement strategies for waste management, energy conservation, and sustainable practices within the facility.
• Promote a clean and healthy environment for patients and staff.

Incident Reporting and Investigation:

• Respond to security incidents and conduct investigations as necessary.
• Document incidents and maintain records for analysis and future reference.
