Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Manager to oversee and manage customs operations for both sea and air freight. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, streamline clearance processes, and enhance operational efficiency while minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

Customs Compliance:

  • Ensure all import/export operations comply with local and international customs regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in customs laws and regulations, advising the team accordingly.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee the customs clearance process for sea and air freight shipments.
  • Manage documentation, duties, taxes, and tariffs to ensure timely and efficient clearance.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of customs clearance specialists, providing guidance on complex clearance issues.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, customs authorities, and internal departments regarding customs-related inquiries.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners.

Process Improvement:

  • Analyze existing customs procedures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement best practices and new technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce clearance times.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on customs operations, including performance metrics and compliance issues.
  • Monitor and analyze shipment data to identify trends and potential risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs clearance management for sea and air freight.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and tariff classifications.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in customs software and freight management systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
