We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with 5+ years of relevant working experience to join our team, working closely with Japanese startups in cutting-edge fields such as eSports, AI, and Blockchain. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Go programming and have leadership experience in top Indonesian tech companies. Success in this role means driving API development, supporting core platform functionality, and contributing to new web services, all while working remotely with flexibility and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of APIs to enhance product functionality.
  • Support and expand core platform capabilities by implementing backend infrastructure components.
  • Design and develop new web services for various projects.
  • Create and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality code.
  • Identify and resolve system performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working experience as a Backend Engineer (excluding internship experience).
  • 1+ years of experience as a Senior, Lead, or Principal Software Engineer at Traveloka, Tokopedia, Gojek, Bukalapak, Grab, Blibli, Shopee, Tiket.com, Garena, OVO, DANA, or Ajaib.
  • Proficiency in Go programming language.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, and modern encryption algorithms.
  • Familiarity with container-based development and debugging/testing tools.
  • Basic knowledge of security best practices.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to contribute 20+ hours per week.
  • Must be based in Indonesia.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with Python or TypeScript.
  • Experience with cloud databases (Firestore, Cloud Datastore, Cloud Spanner, Amazon Aurora).
  • Experience with cloud services (Firebase, GCP, AWS).
  • Contributions to or active participation in the OSS community.
  • Experience in the development and operations of large-scale web services.
