About Our Client

Our client is a prominent consultancy based in the UK, with a global presence spanning across over 40 countries. Specializing in environmental and sustainability services, the company operates at the intersection of economy, health, safety, and risk, supporting a diverse clientele in sectors such as maritime, oil and gas and renewable energy.

They are currently seeking an experienced Principal / Senior Consultant to join their Marine Renewables and Infrastructure team. This role will involve managing and delivering environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for large-scale marine and coastal infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on Offshore Wind, Renewable Energy, and the broader Energy Transition across South Asia.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in marine resource planning and management, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability and infrastructure development. Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate exceptional project coordination skills, working closely with the Marine Renewables & Infrastructure team to deliver high-quality reports and studies to clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, manage and deliver timely EIAs for the assigned projects.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on all aspects of project delivery, including technical outputs, project timelines, risk management, and budget control.
  • Serve as the lead expert to mentor consultants within the team to ensure successful project execution.
  • Contribute to the company’s business development and marketing strategy, including identifying and engaging potential clients to secure new business opportunities.
  • Monitor political, economic, social, and environmental developments in South Asia, with a particular focus on Indonesia, and analyze their potential impact on the client’s business interests and investments.
  • Act as an intermediary to build and maintain relationships with statutory consultees and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and cooperation on matters of mutual interest.

Job requirements:

  • At least 12 years of experience in the oil and gas, maritime, or renewable energy sectors. Prior experience with large multinational consultancies, NGOs, or government agencies is preferred.
  • A master’s or PhD in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing large-scaled environmental projects, including marine spatial planning and resource management, as well as policy formulation at organizational or higher levels.
  • Proven experience in project and program management, with strong client relationship management and/or bid preparation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in presenting and preparing reports in English.
  • A resourceful, collaborative team player with excellent coordination and communication skills.

  • Job arrangements: Hybrid and Remote working options are available, with flexibility to accommodate family and work-life balance, including part-time roles.
  • Working hours: 5-day work week with flexible working arrangements. Candidate must be willing to travel within the South Asia region (approximately 15%).
