Responsibilities:

Tanoto Foundation is a family philanthropic foundation committed to the ideal that quality education accelerates equal opportunity. The Foundation promotes enhanced learning environments through its Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) as well as Basic Education (BE) programs while also promoting Indonesia’s future leaders through its Scholarship and Civil Service Leadership Development (CSLD) programs. As an active player in philanthropic networks, Tanoto Foundation is an active member of the Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC) and is currently the head of Filantropi Indonesia’s (FI) education cluster. The Foundation also maintains relationships with a wide range of strategic partners involved in the implementation of program activities including the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank.

The Foundation’s cross-cutting Strategic Planning and Partnership’s division is currently recruiting a Program Manager to manage Foundation programs related to our work that supports the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The Manager will be responsible for managing grants, programs and partnerships related to the Foundation’s support for SDG adoption by multiple stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on local government adoption. TF’s notable ongoing SDG projects include the localization of the SDGs in Riau and the establishment of the SDG Academy Indonesia, both of which are implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme and the Government of Indonesia. Indonesia’s success in achieving SDG targets relies on the effective adoption of the SDG framework for planning/budgeting at all levels and both of these programs seek to promote this both for local governments as well as other key stakeholders (e.g. Private sector). The Manager will oversee and administer the implementation of these existing programs to ensure the achievement of contractual milestones by the Foundation and our partners. The Manager will also be expected to represent Tanoto Foundation on all program technical teams and be involved in the processes of creating and adjusting programs in collaboration with our partners.
