Position Overview

This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of product data within VinFast's PLM and SAP systems. You will create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Bills of Process (BOPs) for electric vehicle production, liaising with various departments to maintain data integrity.

Position Responsibilities

- MBOM Developing and Manufacturing Change management

  • Create MBOM and complete structure in PLM
  • Create color parts, purchased and in-house parts
  • Create direct materials for CON, COI, BLN, WRE, TUB, FAB, LEA… according to info from Shops
  • Set up all variant formulas for parts created in MBOM (color, market, etc.)
  • Create Bill of Process in PLM, including all stations and operations per plant code
  • Set up process flow in BOP
  • Ensure all operation types are correctly identified based on feedback from manufacturing

- Validate MBOM and BOP: Analyze EBOM, MBOM and BOP and ensure all production required parts are represented correctly (including quantities, variant formulas and colors)

- Break point management: Attend BP meeting as specialist in own MCN and report background of MCN

- Manufacturing Change Notifications

  • Continuous teamwork with SAP and PLM team ensuring fluent communication between all systems to generate required demand for production
  • Continuous teamwork with PLM team to ensure the system is as user friendly as possible and required reporting can be generated
  • Create MCNs originating from engineering changes
  • Create MCNs originating from production plant requests
  • Ensure transfer of MCN to SAP
  • Approver for MCNs created by production plant engineer
  • Support BOM Analyst validating data in SAP

- Break point management

  • Setting up BP meeting including creating and sending agenda to all applicable parties
  • During BP meeting, collect all necessary information from various departments to calculate the BP
  • Set up calculated BP in SAP system
  • Inform all applicable parties regarding forecasted BP
  • Monitor/Track BP and if required reschedule due to agreed changes
  • 1 day before implementation date, capture applicable VIN ID (if possible)
  • Ensure implementation of BP
  • Close BP process
  • Follow COGI with Accounting/Shops and have explanation for the tasks belongs to MBOM

- Validate SAP

  • Analyze data and BP in SAP
  • If required, trigger process for a Manufacturing Change Note (MCN) to modify the MBOM and/or BOP
  • Ensure updated data in SAP is correct
  • Request Material Control team to validate demand

- Manual MBOM/MRP management: Manage manual MBOM/MRP according to EBOM frozen for the phases developing/testing cars like PT, PTO.

- Engineering and Manufacturing change management: Liaise with the Engineering change management team and the Manufacturing Plant (Shop) regarding previous, current and future changes

- Sub-BOM “Leader”:

  • Representative contact person for Sub-BOM (section of whole BOM)
  • Continuous teamwork with SAP and PLM team ensuring fluent communication between all systems to generate required demand for production
  • Continuous teamwork with Lead process engineers, material controlling, warehouse and production planning to ensure change management process for new/revised part implementation
  • Continuous teamwork with BOM Engineer to ensure manufacturing changes captured in PLM and transferred to SAP correctly.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a data management role within the automotive industry (preferred)
  • Proven experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Process (BOP) concepts
  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing Change Notes (MCNs)
  • Proficiency in PLM and SAP systems (highly preferred)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
