As the Regulatory Affair Manager of Perfumery & Beauty (P&B) responsible of Asia Pacific region (APAC), your primary responsibility will be to ensure regulatory and safety compliance of all P&B products offered in APAC. This involves staying up-to-date with changes to regulations and industry standards, and working closely with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure that all relevant requirements are met.

In addition to ensuring compliance, you will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, both internally and externally, through regular communication, providing local support, and building trust with customers and all stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining strong internal and external customer relationships, to grow the business of Perfumery & Beauty (P&B) Division through regulatory affairs services.
  • For Beauty and Care (B&C) ingredients,
    • lead and manage APAC regulatory activities defined by manager including supporting market clearance and coordinate Halal matters.
    • Provides regulatory support and guidance to commercial teams for sunscreen actives, vitamins, skin and hair care actives and personal care specialty chemicals.
    • Be the first point of contact for regional customer inquiries and approve promotional materials.
  • For Perfumery & Ingredients (P&I),
    • manage all internal and external customers’ product safety & regulatory enquiries and service requests for Perfumery & Beauty including client visit when applicable.
    • Provides regulatory support and guidance to commercial teams and creation hub with respect to fragrance development and innovation projects to ensure regulatory & safety compliance.
  • Ensures prompt documentation services, tracking of regulatory services & activities to facilitate periodic RA service statistics & report.
  • Stay on top of regulations and industry standards and represent the company at industry associations where needed.
  • Lead and work closely with team members and Group RA teams in maintaining and updating internal systems with respect to regulatory compliance, documentation and digitalization.
You bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University Degree in Chemistry or Science
  • At least 7 years’ regulatory experience in Regulatory Affairs in Perfumery, Beauty and/or Homecare Industry.
  • Regulatory experience and network with authorities in in Perfumery, Beauty & Homecare Industry.
  • Proven experience working in cross-functional teams and with multiple stakeholders inside and outside at all levels.
  • Expertise or experience in beauty & cosmetic ingredient and product registration and claims.
  • English is mandatory. Multilingual is a plus e.g. Chinese, Malay, Korean.
  • Strong communication/negotiation skills and experience with authorities is a plus.
  • Well verse in Microsoft office. Advance expertise in excel features and functions is a plus.
  • Experience in digitalization and data analytics is a plus.
