Purpose of the role
To manage and establishing the sequence and relationship of a series of actions and requirements prior to maintenance work commencing (include TAR), along with procuring and providing the parts and resources needed to deliver the work plan. Aiming to achieve safe, reliable and efficient plant operation
Manage and ensure the implementation of the Maintenance sub process and responsible partially for the Manage Quality and Manage Quality System process in order compliance to Government Policy and INEOS Policy. Aiming to achieve production targets as per the capacity installed and meet the quality standards
Key Results/Accountabilities expected from role
Works with Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Sr. Process Engineer and Sr. Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations of static equipment’s.
- Establish and maintain inspection and testing policies, procedures, and practices necessary to comply with INEOS IGGN (INEOS Group Guidance Note).
- Plan and execute inspection and testing of equipment in accordance with requirements of INEOS IGGN.
- Responsible for coordinating the corrosion review process at INEOS Merak Plant and in communication with Global SME (Subject Matter Expert) or Sr. Corrosion Engineer.
- Develop TAR (Turn Around / Major Overhaul) Items, develop scope and responsibilities, competencies of Contractors, input sequence of TAR schedule and control the execution of Major TAR and Minor TAR.
- Ensure identification of the potential hazards in the work environment start from investigating an accident or feedback given on the implementation of EHS (Environment Health Safety) policies up to provide recommendation and guidance of EHS implementation.
- Ensure all inspection activities are reported and maintained the report and equipment histories in safe manner.
- Ensure implementation of EHS Policy starting from the availability of EHS procedures documentation up to EHS management changes process.
- Responsible as static equipment authority
- Take a part on implementation of 20 principles Behavior safety and Process safety
Key challenges faced on the role
- Influence decision-makers and other stakeholders in order to know that the tasks and responsibilities of inspection is very important to maintain equipment integrity.
- Lack to fulfill ETP’s (Engineering Technical Practices) because no inspector engineering class.
- Existing inspector capability and qualification need improvement.
Experience & Expertise
Educational background
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Metallurgical Engineer
Experience (years and nature)
- Min. 8 years experienced in Inspection.
- Well understand Material properties and material selection in PTA Process (Aromatics),
- Well understand Material Damage Mechanism in PTA Process (Aromatics).
- Well understand International Codes and Standard applicable acceptance criteria of Inspection activities, such as ASME B31.3, API 510, API 570, API 653, API 580, API 581, API 576, API 571, ASME VIII D.1, ASME V, ASME D1.1 and ASNT Protocol.
- Having knowledge about Coating Material, coating selection, coating applications.
- Having knowledge about Sacrificial and ICCP Cathodic protection
- Having knowledge and experience in RBI (Qualitative, semi-Quantitative and Full quantitative approach).
- Understand fabrication process for Piping, Vessel and Tanks.
- Understood principal working of inspection tools.
- Understand and able to select advance inspection technologies.
Other
Familiar with CMMS system such as SAP and Proficient level skills using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Certification
- Hold Welding Engineering Certification (IWE / EWF) or Sr. Welding Inspector Certification (CSWIP 3.2)
- Hold One of API ICP Certification (API-570, 510 or 653).
- Level II certifications Ultrasonic Testing (Thickness Monitoring) (UT-TM), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Have Radiography Interpreter is advantages.
- For inspection engineer that advance to RBI Engineer roles are having API 580 or API 581 certificate is preferred.
- Hold API-571 certification is an advantage.
