our Role at Cabot
Under limited supervision, performs the most complex installations and repairs in any of the maintenance specialty areas, such as carpentry, electrical, mechanical, welding, heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC), or plumbing. May lead a team of in-house maintenance technicians and/or oversees work of outside contractors. Very experienced in various maintenance skills, performs repairs and maintains machinery, equipment and other plant facilities. May focus on a particular skilled-trades specialty.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Provides leadership and technical expertise to other maintenance technicians in the diagnosing, maintenance, repair, installation of electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic structures and manufacturing equipment.
- Responds to escalated problems, and performs the most complex maintenance assignments.
- Has lead responsibilities in special events, such as major turnarounds at plants and may lead a group of in-house maintenance technicians and/or outside contractors during this time. In larger facilities, may have on-going lead responsibilities.
- Works closely with Maintenance Supervisor/ Manager or Maintenance Planners to identify trends and contributes to the development of inspection and maintenance schedules.
- Uses the computer to maintain records pertaining to maintenance activity and spare parts inventory.
- May participate in cycle counts of spare parts.
- Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements. Keeps work areas clean.
- Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001 technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.
What You Will Bring To Cabot
- General knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures and methods.
- Knowledge of manufacturing machines and tools including their design and uses.
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, instructions; ability to use shop power tools.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with others in a team-based environment.
- Flexibility in performing changing assignments; ability to work off shift and after hours as needed.
- Vocational/technical school and completed (certified) apprenticeship required.
