Role Purpose

Shopper Insight

Equipped category management and sales teams with shopper insight to drive effective & efficient store’s retail strategy. Shopper Insights will be retailer and channel focused, building stories for improved distribution, assortment, placement, and promotions based on HOW and WHEN & WHERE people purchase, and WHAT they buy or don’t buy.

Consumer Insight

Equipped marketing team with consumer insight to develop & improve strong brand mix. Consumer Insights is focus with the attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that subconsciously influence the purchase decision. Consumer insight focuses more on WHO, WHY & WHAT people interact with a brand or category and how the brand is perceived, what emotions it evokes, and the need states it fulfils.

Role Accountabilities

Comprehensive Data Analysis:

  • Analyze a diverse range of data sources including sales data, consumer surveys, market research, social media analytics, and customer feedback to uncover insights into shopper and consumer behaviour.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data to develop a holistic understanding of the shopping journey from consideration to purchase and beyond.

Shopper Segmentation and Persona Development

  • Segment shoppers based on demographics, psychographics, shopping habits, and preferences to create detailed personas representing different shopper archetypes.
  • Develop consumer personas based on lifestyle, attitudes, and behaviors to provide a comprehensive understanding of our target audience.

Market and Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor strategies, and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats in the marketplace.
  • Evaluate competitive positioning, pricing strategies, and product offerings to inform our own strategic initiatives and differentiate our brand.

Insightful Reporting and Presentation

  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards that distil complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Present findings to senior leadership and cross-functional teams in a clear and compelling manner, influencing decision-making, and driving alignment across departments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, product development, and customer experience teams to integrate shopper and consumer insights into business strategies and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams, leveraging your expertise to inform decision-making and drive business results.

Continuous Learning and Innovation

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies in shopper and consumer insights, data analytics, and market research.
  • Explore innovative approaches and tools to enhance the effectiveness and accuracy of our insight’s generation process, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Statistics, Psychology, Sociology, or related field (master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years proven experience in consumer insights, market research, or related roles, with a focus on both shopper and consumer behaviour.
  • Preferably with background in multinational consumer goods
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SQL, SPSS, R, or Python.
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling abilities, with the capacity to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage projects, lead cross-functional teams, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic mindset with a keen understanding of business objectives and the ability to align insights with broader organizational goals.
  • Passion for consumer behaviour, market dynamics, and driving business growth through data-driven insights and innovation.
