Green Building Council Indonesia (GBC Indonesia) is an independent non-profit organization committed to educating the public on implementing best environmental practices and facilitating the global sustainable building industry transformation. As an Emerging Member of the World Green Building Council (WGBC), GBC Indonesia collaborates with various stakeholders, including construction professionals, building and property sector industries, government agencies, educational and research institutions, professional associations, and environmental enthusiasts. One of GBC Indonesia's programs is to conduct Green Building Certification activities in Indonesia using the country's specific assessment tool called GREENSHIP.

Role Description

• Lead the research and development of the GREENSHIP rating system for green building standards,

ensuring it is relevant, rigorous, and aligned with the latest trends in sustainable architecture and

construction.

• Synthesize data from various resources, including certification projects, academic journals, expert

interviews, national and international green building codes.

• Develop supporting documents such as technical guidelines, calculation tools, and checklists to assist

clients in achieving certification.

• Translate developed standards, tools, and checklists into detailed requirement documents that the IT

division can utilize to create digital products such as web applications.

• Ensure that standards align with Indonesia’s unique environmental and regulatory landscape.

• Provide technical assistance and consultations to clients, guiding them through the certification

process.

• Facilitate meetings and discussions with key stakeholders, including developers, architects, and public

authorities.

• Develop and deliver presentations on GREENSHIP standards, both at introductory and technical levels, to

clients and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with the Event & Communication division to create materials and campaigns that promote

the GREENSHIP standard.

• Work with the Training division to develop training modules that educate stakeholders on the standards

and processes.

• Engage with the Membership division to ensure member organizations are supported in their

certifications, green products, & green activities journeys.

• Partner with the IT division to translate standards into digital tools and applications, supporting

certification processes through technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering,

Sustainable Design, or other related fields.

• Highly committed and have a strong passion in sustainability and environmental issues.

• Have at least one year of experience in sustainability or environmental management practice or

GREENSHIP Professional (GP) is a plus.

• Proficiency in synthesizing research data & documents from diverse sources, including academic

literature, building codes, and industry best practices.

• Competence in relevant software tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and

building design applications (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp).

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to

both internal teams and external clients.

• Business acumen sensitive person & ability to create requirement documents for IT to develop digital

products or tech-savvy person is a plus.

• Proactive work style with the ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines with minimal

supervision.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

• Ability to work in a flexible environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
