Position: Manager – Sustainability and ESG
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Reports to: Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network Indonesia (IGCN)
BACKGROUND
The United Nations Global Compact Network Indonesia (IGCN) is the country network of the UN Global Compact, world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, a call to companies to align strategies and operations with the universal principle of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption while also aligning with the UN SDGs. The Sustainability and ESG Manager will play a key role in advancing IGCN’s mission by developing and implementing sustainability programs, guiding businesses on sustainability reporting frameworks, and providing capacity-building through workshops and training. They will foster multi-stakeholder collaborations, support key initiatives and ensure member companies stay ahead of sustainability trends and regulations. This role is essential for helping businesses in Indonesia enhance their sustainability practices and contribute to the global goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies: Align IGCN sustainability programs with organizational goals, support member companies in managing sustainability risks and compliance with regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Lead sustainability communications, foster partnerships (businesses, government agencies, and CSOs), and conduct training for member companies.
- Monitor and Report Sustainability Performance: Assist members with sustainability reporting, track sustainability metrics, and provide improvement insights.
- Build Partnerships and Capacity: Develop tools, resources, and partnerships to enhance member companies' sustainability capabilities.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Sustainability Management or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or corporate responsibility, with a track record of program development and stakeholder engagement and proven ability to manage sustainability projects and initiatives effectively.
- Strong knowledge of Sustainability reporting frameworks and familiarity with sustainability regulations.
- Experience in capacity building, including organizing workshops, training, and providing guidance to businesses on Sustainability.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to lead sustainability initiatives and manage multi-stakeholder collaborations (businesses, government agencies, and CSOs).
