Job Summary:

Kick Avenue is seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Engineering to lead our engineering team, drive product development, and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our platform. The VP of Engineering will collaborate closely with the CTO and other executive team members to align our engineering efforts with business objectives, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a high-performing engineering team, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent to ensure the team’s success in a competitive marketplace.
  • Collaborate with the CTO to implement the technology roadmap that supports KickAvenue’s growth and strategic goals.

Product Development & Delivery:

  • Oversee the end-to-end engineering process, from product ideation through development, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features, enhancements, and innovations that align with business goals.
  • Implement and refine development processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize productivity and quality.

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of KickAvenue’s technology infrastructure, including cloud services (AWS).
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, focusing on code quality, testing, and deployment strategies.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure to balance performance, cost, and scalability, ensuring the platform meets the demands of a growing user base.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with product management, marketing, sales, operations, and customer support teams to deliver technology solutions that meet business needs.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and technical decisions to the CTO and other key stakeholders.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of company-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5-7 years) in a senior engineering leadership role, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in web and mobile technologies, cloud computing (AWS), and software development practices.
  • Proficiency in Golang for backend development and experience with Flutter for mobile application development.
  • Familiarity with web development frameworks such as Next.js, Angular, and React.
  • Experience with RDS databases and optimization strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and scaling engineering teams, with a focus on building high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach.
