Job Purpose:

The Sr. Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and market expansion in Indonesia. This individual will develop and implement sales strategies, manage key accounts, and mentor a sales team to achieve targets and objectives. They will collaborate closely with other departments such as Technical R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure the smooth execution of sales plans and optimize market share.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee the Sales and Marketing department, responsible for new business development, and assign sales responsibilities to the Sales Managers on the team.
  • Develop a strategy and roadmap to achieve the division’s annual sales plan in Indonesia, ensuring the Sales department meets its targets (sales, projects, new business development, etc., as defined in their MBOs).
  • Focus on business development by growing market share through the identification and development of new markets and a pipeline of customers.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with the team, track KPI achievements, and perform gap analysis against the budget. Provide feedback to team members on specific areas for improvement based on KPI results.
  • Monitor the pipeline of projects maintained in the company’s CRM system, focusing on successfully closing projects.
  • Collaborate with the Technical department to provide quick and efficient technical solutions to customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and confidence in our support.
  • Develop long-term, strategic relationships with key accounts.
  • Identify focus areas, such as key market segments/applications where we can add value with our products and technologies. Ensure that sufficient resources are allocated to these areas and develop a roadmap to achieve our midterm growth plan.
  • Negotiate with customers and make key decisions in the sales role.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives to senior management.

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in Science , Engineering or related field . MBA would be a plus.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Sales with minimum 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience. Candidates with experience in the Automotive industry or in Specialty chemicals industry will be given preference.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to work in a multicultural environment, both internally and externally
  • Professionally proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesian; proficiency in other regional languages is an added advantage
  • Frequent travel of up to 70% of work time may be required

KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience in specialty chemicals industry. Knowledge of thermoplastic elastomers or PVC or polyolefins would be an advantage.
