We're seeking a Video Editor and Strategist for our client, a rapidly growing DTC hair grooming product brand. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating compelling video content that showcases our client's products and resonates with their target audience across multiple channels.

OBJECTIVES As a Video Editor and Strategist, you will:

  • Develop and maintain a cohesive visual style that reinforces our client's brand identity across all video content and channels
  • Conceptualize, create, and edit various video materials for digital use, including social media content, product demonstrations, tutorials, advertisements, and website videos
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop video strategies that align with overall marketing goals and campaigns
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to ensure projects are completed to a high standard and meet deadlines
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects efficiently, adapting to changing priorities as needed
  • Edit and manipulate footage, incorporating audio, visual effects, and motion graphics to create engaging and polished final products
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest video trends, especially in the beauty and personal care industry, to keep content fresh and relevant
  • Analyze video performance metrics and use insights to continuously improve content strategy and execution.


IDEAL CANDIDATE We're looking for someone who:

  • Has expert knowledge of current video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) and is proficient in the entire video production process
  • Possesses a strong understanding of storytelling through video, particularly in the context of product marketing and brand building
  • Demonstrates creativity and the ability to transform written or verbal concepts into visually appealing video content
  • Has experience creating content for beauty, grooming, or lifestyle brands, with a keen eye for aesthetics and current trends
  • Can adapt their editing style to suit different platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) while maintaining brand consistency
  • Is skilled in color grading, audio mixing, and basic motion graphics
  • Has excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Possesses strong communication skills and can collaborate effectively with various teams.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of video editing experience with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse creative projects
  • Strong visual storytelling skills
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve
  • Experience in motion graphics, color grading, and sound design
  • Ability to conceptualize and storyboard ideas
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms like Shopify and creating video content for online stores
  • Strong analytical, storytelling, and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to translate strategic direction into high-quality video content
  • Knowledge of current market trends in video production and ability to adapt quickly to new technologies
  • Experience with creating video content for direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in film, video production, multimedia, or related field (preferred but not required)
