Main duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure that the project risk is well identified and managed from project inception till its completion.
- Demonstrates active, vigorous and palpable leadership and commitment to establishing highest levels of SHE performance in projects execution.
- Responsible for ensuring that Management leadership, commitment and accountability for controls and proper business conduct are established and clearly visible to the organization and to third parties.
- Give clear directions and instructions to both team members and stakeholders with regards to external factors, to enable them carryout their duties effectively
- Create and implement a comprehensive project plan and execution
- Makes arrangement with internal support groups and/or contracts with outside companies to obtain all services and materials necessary for execution of the project.
- Manages development of purchasing and contracting strategy, works with contracts or supply chain related section through bidding and award.
- Executes procurement, construction, fabrication and hook-up & commissioning contracts.
- Give clear and unbiased assessment of the movement and nature of projects in relations to operating cost and expenses
- Determine the appropriate time to make advancement on projects and move on to further stages. Also, acknowledge when certain strategies aren’t effective and implement change of plans
- Carryout constant evaluation and adjustment within a specific period of time to ensure that both internal and external factors do not suffer.
- Stewards project objectives, cost and schedule, Company and regulatory compliance. Provides reports to various stake holders and other higher level management as necessary to ensure satisfactory communication and project control.
- Interface with Project Stakeholders and other counterparts as necessary to ensure appropriate project communication.
- Effectively monitors and manage project Budget and expenditure and the implementation of earn value management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineering with secondary qualification/training in Project Management or Cost Controls
- Membership of PMI or equivalent preferable
- PMP or recognized PM certification will have added value
- At least ten (10) years of project engineering or project management execution experience on EPC projects in the upstream, midstream, downstream, and energy industries, or similar construction industries.
- Involvement in EPCm type of projects as project lead/manager will have added value.
- Experience in leading or supporting preparation of project engineering proposals around or >$60 million value (added value).
