Some of your duties will include:
- To ensure the highest standards of safety and quality, comprehensive aviation safety protocols are spearheaded and aligned with industry benchmarks.
- To oversight of potential risks, incident investigations, and policy developments.
- To enhance the aviation safety environment consistently, collaborative efforts with stakeholders are employed, leveraging advanced technologies and data-driven strategies for the benefit of passengers, crew, and the broader aviation community. Able to manage competency development in its work Unit.
- Monitor and manage daily airport operations to ensure smooth functionality.
- Conduct maintenance checks on aircraft, ensuring use of up-to-date tools and adherence to global aviation standards.
- Manage and update aviation software to maintain efficiency and safety.
- Inspect ground equipment and communication devices for safety and functionality.
- Update and enforce adherence to technical manuals and safety protocols.
- Initiate aviation projects with safety and quality at the forefront, including risk assessments.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders about safety and quality updates.
- Allocate necessary resources to projects to uphold safety and quality standards.
- Perform audits on projects, identifying and addressing safety or quality concerns.
- Complete safety and quality checks before finalizing projects and document learnings.
- Enforce airport safety regulations and procedures.
- To Ensure that Airport safety operations running in accordance with laws and regulations.
- To carry out operational activities in accordance with Regulations and Operational Documents (AM, ASP and SMS Manual).
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of airport facilities and operations.
- To Ensure the operations activities according to Level of Service Regulatory standards.
- Create and implement safety management system programs, Occupational Safety & Health Management System (SMK3) and risk management.
- Able to handle hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation.
What skills and experience do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, safety management, engineering, or a related field.
- Have min 10 years’ experience as Supervisor and 5 years’ experience working in Airport Operations & Safety and Security.
- Completed a formal training course in:
-> Safety Management System training.
-> Human Factors: to understand the role of human behaviour and its impact on safety in aviation
-> Aerodrome Emergency Plan/ AEP
-> Accident Investigation: to lead or assist in investigations should any accidents or incidents occur and can derive lessons and preventive measures from these incidents.
-> Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor: A certification or training as a Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor is crucial.
-> Risk Management: to identify, assess, and prioritize risks.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of the certificate holder’s Airport Operator Certificate, operational specifications, and the company's operations and technical manuals.
- Have undergone specialized training in safety-related courses deemed by the Director as adequate preparation for the roles and responsibilities of a Safety Director.
- Knows the contents of the certificate holder’s manuals and operations specifications, and the provisions of this part necessary to the proper performance of his duties
- Extensive knowledge about airport operations, safety and security.
- Have a Safety Awareness certificate.
