PT Lami Packaging Indonesia is seeking a Construction Auditor with relevant construction and operational experience to support the buildout of Lamipak Indonesia factory. He / She will leverage the knowledge of audit, internal controls, financial and business operations to identify and evaluate critical business risks and relevant business and governance processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and focus on key business risks to the organization by applying a broad “risk lens” to the business’s construction initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements leading to a more effective and efficient execution of construction activities through data analytics
  • Utilize a risk-based approach to independently evaluate, plan, perform, summarize and communicate assigned risk and audit activities
  • Lead audits related to construction operations and internal controls, and lead and/or participate in construction risk assessments, and assurance activities over physical construction, the effectiveness of processes and controls, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Perform front-end construction bid package, proposal, and contract reviews
  • Perform in-process and closeout construction cost and billings reviews. Work with management, suppliers, and contractors to negotiate and facilitate cost recoveries
  • Perform operational assessments, process and procedure evaluations, special investigations
  • Leads desk audits of change orders (change directives, Engineering change notices, field change requests) to assess accuracy and reasonableness. Additionally, review non-competitive bids to ensure that costs are also reasonable.
  • Verifies that the work in a change order is not already within the scope of the original contract and verifies that the work was necessary and conforms to the drawing, design, and unit costs in case of unit price contract.
  • Reviews change orders for accuracy of contractors' prices, labour rates, construction quantities, and calculations.
  • Leads construction cost testing including reconciliation of invoices, purchase orders, and construction control documents.
  • Analyse review of contractor labour billing rates, equipment billing rates and billing methods.
  • Review, analysis, and summary of construction claims and audits.
  • Identifies cost savings, operational, and business process improvements.
  • Present on issues to other departments related to engineering and construction audit matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, construction management, engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in auditing and reporting on construction costs including operational/financial/non-financial information, contract compliance, and project reports
  • Have experience in IT audit and ERP implementations is preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of contract types, incentivization strategies, labor rate and cost build-up techniques, and equipment pricing
  • Knowledge of field construction, materials and methods, industry standards and best practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction delivery methods, procurement, contracting, and management processes
  • Communicates extremely well in verbal and written forms with stakeholders, the Internal Audit team, and external parties
  • Fluent in English is a must
