The Assistant Head Training Requirements Authority role ensures that the Defence System Approach to Training (DSAT) process within the Directorate is properly managed and governed to the highest standard. You will collaborate with senior managers aiding their decision making through the provision of advice on how best to deliver training requirements that align with Army and Defence training policy.

Applicants will need to be effective communicators and confident to develop trusting working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners and stakeholders, both military and civilian across all grades and ranks.

The AH TRA Role Will

  • Provide governance, leadership and direction to a multi-disciplinary Training Branch to support the delivery of capability development; ensuring priorities, personnel reporting and career requirements are met in full in accordance with Defence policy.
  • Lead and manage a team of circa 24 military and Civil Servants. This also includes Line management of Specialist Instructional Officer appointments
  • Implement and govern an effect management of training system, formulate, set and validate training policy and Job Role Requirements (quality and quantity) across 2* D Info Professions. To include CIS, Intelligence, Land Cyber, Land EMA, Land Info Operations, Land Geospatial for E1 and E2 soldiers and Officers (all Arms if required) to underpin Operational and contingent Capability for Regular, Reserves and civilian workforce in accordance with respective Customer Executive Board priorities.
  • Provide the Principal Learning Development Advisor on all Training & Education for the Information Directorate Capability Development including advice on training strategies to support the SRO and Programme Director in the development of Training Business Cases to support future capability
  • Prioritise, quality assure, authorise and record all routine ITT/STT specific requirements, training, formal assessments and training issues and risks ensuring that the Role Requirements and standards set by D Info are compliant with current Army and Defence directives, legislation, and policy, as required.
  • Ensure regulatory and training professional standards are adhered to, and D Info TRA/TDT staff activity complies with Army and Defence policies and procedures as directed.
  • Represent D Info (2*) at Customer Executive Boards, Army Training Committee and attend 1* Steering and Working Groups as required. Champion Army Training profession on behalf of D Info and the Army Training Executive as part of the Training Senior Leadership Team.
  • Create a culture and environment of innovation, collaboration and empowerment to achieve new ways of maximising the Training delivered to soldiers and Officers.
  • Act as the senior Army Civil Servant Training and Education Subject Matter Expert /Advisor representing the professional requirements of the Civil Service Training & Education profession within the Army TLB.
