Tech in Asia Indonesia is hiring a journalist in Jakarta to provide smart coverage about Indonesia's business ecosystem for its Indonesia site in Bahasa Indonesia.
Responsibilities
• You'll find, write, and break news, investigate leads, conduct interviews, and grow your network of industry contacts.
• You'll assist the news team by providing additional reporting.
Requirements
• You're a speed demon who can write clean, punchy, and entertaining prose with minimal edits from an editor.
• You have extensive knowledge in finance, energy, telcos, logistics, SOEs, and/or macroeconomics within the region, especially Indonesia.
• You can convert industry jargon into easy-to-read news pieces within an hour.
• You can write analytical pieces that add context to the news in under a day.
• You can show portfolios of content that are similar to what Tech in Asia covers.
• You understand what readers want.
• You value being first to the news and chasing down scoops no one else has.
• You value accuracy.
• You value journalistic integrity.
• You can read, converse, and write in both English and Bahasa.
• You possess traits that are described in Tech in Asia's culture code.
• You're based in Jakarta, or willing to relocate there.
