Channel Head ID Modern Trade
Purpose:
The Channel Head of Modern Trade (MT) / E-commerce is responsible to develop and implement the sales strategy, steer the sales operations and to deliver the key business outcomes including sales revenue and profit targets for Bayer Consumer Health (BCH), Indonesia (ID). The Channel Head of Modern Trade / E-commerce will have full responsibility for managing the Modern Trade and E-commerce channels as the Work Leader who steers the deployment of Key Account / MTI customer plans through distributorship and account management. The position will also have joint responsibility for the overall BCH ID sales, which includes joint responsibility with the General Trade (GT) / Medical channel sales team.

Channel Head ID Modern Trade
Purpose:
The Channel Head of Modern Trade (MT) / E-commerce is responsible to develop and implement the sales strategy, steer the sales operations and to deliver the key business outcomes including sales revenue and profit targets for Bayer Consumer Health (BCH), Indonesia (ID). The Channel Head of Modern Trade / E-commerce will have full responsibility for managing the Modern Trade and E-commerce channels as the Work Leader who steers the deployment of Key Account / MTI customer plans through distributorship and account management. The position will also have joint responsibility for the overall BCH ID sales, which includes joint responsibility with the General Trade (GT) / Medical channel sales team.
YOUR TASK and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the country level Modern Trade / Ecommerce Channel strategy and execution, including develop and implement sales plans to achieve channel objectives and managing partnership with the appointed national distributors and branch teams.
- Budget planning, deliberations of P&I / G2N funds to develop the specific sales channels.
- Participate in BCH budget preparation process by providing inputs on market environment, competition, channel growth, sales volume & value by channel, channel plans and trade programs in align with brand priorities.
- Monitor and ensure strict adherence to the set budget of the year. Recommend corrective actions whenever deviations occur.
- Manage deployment of the P&I / G2N funds across the assigned sales channels to achieve the best possible returns in term of sales and channel profitability. Monitor the actual spending of the allocated trade P&I funds.
- Participate in development of category strategy, commercial policy and programs to implement the same for the MT / Ecommerce channel customers at country level.
- Accurate and timely sales forecasting
- Work closely with Customer Marketing, Brand Marketing and supply chain on monthly forecast requirements during S&OP.
- Monitor stocks level in the trade for proper stocks requirement planning.
- Develop MT (incl Key Accounts) / Ecommerce sales operational plans, oversee distributor and retail execution activities to achieve sales targets.
- Effectively execute customer marketing and trade promotion campaigns with measurable end results, through close collaboration with the Customer and Brand Marketing team,
- Build strong visibility, availability and merchandising position for BCH key brands in the assigned sales channels, with the aim of increasing BCH brands presence.
- Achieve a high customer service standard to gain a competitive advantage over our competitors.
- Set the standards in joint business planning (JBP) and customer servicing, i.e. to develop check lists of the “essentials” to drive effective JBP and monitoring process.
- Monitor closely the customer service standards at all times.
- Develop and assess MT distribution strategy, expansion of national MT network to achieve optimal area coverage and product availability based on value impact to the business.
- As the assigned Channel Work Leader, collaborate closely with the CDH (Home Leader) to steer an effective KAM / Ecomm sales organization design, including position’s role, job scope, assigned channel / customer strategy and resources deployment.
- Partner with Home Leader to lead, mentor, coach and motivate the MT / Ecomm KAM / sales teams, as well as co-manage and sharpen the skills of the 3rd Party field force (incl merchandisers/SPGs, where relevant) with the aim to enhance capabilities and motivation for the team to strive for high sales performance. Collaborate with Sales Force
- Lead the learning, training and development initiatives for the assigned sales organization and provide stewardship of sales talents through partnership with CDH, Human Resources / People Partner.
- Ensure adherence of Bayer Corporate Compliance & governance policies in the sales organization, and all sales activities / executions to comply with safety, local laws and industry code of conduct
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years working experience in sales management position in Modern Trade / Ecommerce channels, in FMCG or Consumer Health industry in Indonesia, preferably with a multinational company.
- Solid understanding of CH / OTC industry.
- Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills. Good business acumen and insights.
- Strong sense of achievement, sense of urgency to get things done; with result driven attitude.
- Proven leadership and people management skills; and a strong ability to work in a team environment.
- Good command of English.
