Job Summary
Coordinate activities among internal functional groups to identify and resolve forecast variances and day-to-day issues related to supply and demand discrepancies

General Responsibilities
  • Support superior in managing day-to-day operating expenditures against operating budgets to ensure efficient usage of resources
  • Implement forecasting strategies, guidelines and processes to ensure inventory is planned at optimal level to meet target turns
  • Work closely with the sales and logistics teams on forecasting for all products to ensure accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Analyze forecast variance and propose strategies to improve the forecasting process, so as to minimize the variance
  • Create purchase orders and ensure timely submission of purchase orders to suppliers
  • Consolidate and prepare reports/measurements related to forecasting (e.g. forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets, etc.)
  • Control inventory by delay or advance shipment based on actual/forecast sales to balance inventory levels
  • Review efficiency of current processes and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce cost
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure orders are placed and received in timely manner
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g. sales, accounting, marketing etc.) on demand planning


Functional Skills And Knowledge
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of sales forecasting methodology/tools
  • Proven experience in inventory management, procurement systems and logistics operations
  • Demonstrate working knowledge on SAP - MRP systems
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrate fluency in local language and ideally in English, both written and spoken


Education

Diploma/certificate in business, supply chain, logistics or related field
