Job Description
Responsible in managing the underwriting process including providing data for reporting purposes and transactions, by ensuring those process runs smoothly which are aligned with the policy/procedures/guideline and delivered within the expected turn-around-time.
Responsible in managing the underwriting process including providing data for reporting purposes and transactions, by ensuring those process runs smoothly which are aligned with the policy/procedures/guideline and delivered within the expected turn-around-time.
- Responsible in supervising own team’s underwriting activities (for NB or non- NB cases), including both
- Daily non-medical and medical underwriting, including dealing with Hospital/Clinic and Reinsurance
- Non-medical and medical underwriting consulting and communication related cases
- In order for those activities run smoothly and effectively within the required timeline given
- Develops and exercises selection of risks in order to protect the company's benefit and increase the profit on mortality.
- Ensures that Underwriting related administration tasks are done properly and timely manner, including application registration and distribution, medical billing/reimbursement, application withdrawn, etc.
- Ensures that all underwriting matters are communicate to agency force, other channel distributions or other related parties properly and within timely manner through underwriting helpdesk activities.
- Participates/leads in system and process related to Underwriting development projects in order for the system to run smoothly and effectively and are up to date.
- Prepares underwriting related report as required within the expected timeline given.
- Supervises and overseas underwriting’s helpdesk activities by ensuring activities conducted are performed properly and according to the procedure apply, including direct report, peer audits, medical check-up provider contract.
- To fulfil any additional/ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
- Adhere to the policy and procedure related of risk management, compliance, legal and other departments as per company’s direction.
- Deals with third party (reinsurances, medical check up providers, other vendors) and also Regional/Global as directed by Head of New Business and Underwriting.
- Serve as People Manager who is responsible for the overall people management related matters as per company’s direction which includes hiring best talent, develop talent, and ensure employee engagement.
- Bachelor degree preferable with medical background
- 6 years of experience preferably with minimum of 4 years in the life insurance industry
- Medical or scientific knowledge
- Insurance and Life Underwriting knowledge
