Responsibilities:

  • Take end-to-end ownership of all ID esports' digital channels and assets. Drive growth of all digital metrics and OKRs utilising content strategies and initiatives that leverage all digital channels (social media, in-game, broadcast, teams channels, community, restreamers, KOLs, etc).
  • Lead and roll out the overarching competition narrative and storytelling direction for each season across all channels with the objective of making ID esports (MPL, MDL, MSC, M-series) and its ecosystem (teams, third party tournaments, restreamers, etc) the most watched, most hyped, and most followed esports circuit both locally and internationally.
  • Responsible for driving all communications and promotion of campaigns and projects under the MLBB esports umbrella; support key business objectives besides esports viewership. For example, driving ticket sales, promoting franchise teams' Battle Emotes, amplifying key MLBB in-game events, etc.
  • Lead and drive strategic communications initiatives to enhance the reputation of MLBB esports in non-endemic spaces such as corporate, policy makers, trade, business, education, media, etc.
  • Oversee all PR activities to secure extensive media coverage for each competitive season with a focus on extending competition narratives to drive viewership demand, work with the global PR team to ensure strong execution of all PR initiatives.
  • Own all aspects of social media and website operations including all administrative aspects of this role, such as budget planning, vendor management, tracking and reporting for all digital metrics. To also manage all benefits / ranking programs for key stakeholders (franchise teams, media, etc).

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of experience in communications, content strategy, editorial, sports marketing, or related fields. Esports experience is preferred, agency experience is a plus.
  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to craft narratives and storylines that can influence or captivate an audience. Must possess strong content / editorial sense to identify stories or narratives, and the capability to execute / disseminate those narratives to drive business objectives, e.g. increasing viewership demand, generating cross-region interest, star building, creating community buzz / discussions / UGC.
  • Must be a knowledgeable fan of MPL ID or an equivalent sports / esports league (e.g. NBA, etc). Must have strong knowledge of MPL ID and MLBB esports.
  • Has strong channel expertise and experience, preferably in social media management, website and editorial, or show production.
  • Able to demonstrate high ownership and independence with a results-oriented mindset. Must be proactive, hands on, and have a strong desire for success.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, handle pressure, work well with a team, and manage internal / external stakeholders. Experience managing / mentoring a team is a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Unversity degree in marketing, journalism, business, communications, law, or equivalent.
