Chief Operating Officer - Energy (Mining or Renewable Energy Background)

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is preferred.
2. Minimum 20 years of experience in the energy industry, preferably in renewable energy and/or mining.
3. Proven track record in a senior leadership role, with at least 5 years of experience as COO, Managing Director, or a similar executive role.
4. Strong understanding of operational and technical aspects of energy projects, including engineering, supply chain, project development, and regulatory compliance.
5. Prior experience as a CFO or in financial oversight is a strong advantage.
6. Exceptional commercial acumen with a strong ability to develop and implement strategic growth plans.
7. Deep understanding of industry regulations, market trends, and emerging technologies in energy.
8. Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, lead, and align cross-functional teams.
9. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
10. Proven ability to manage complex operations and multiple projects across geographies.

Job Descriptions:

1. Lead and oversee day-to-day operations across all energy business units, ensuring operational excellence, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

3. Work closely with the CEO and executive leadership to align operational execution with business goals.
4. Supervise engineering, project execution, procurement, supply chain, and HSE functions to ensure project delivery on time and within budget.

6. Oversee the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
7. Monitor key performance indicators and drive continuous improvement across all operational areas.
8. Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, partners, suppliers, and clients.
9. Collaborate with finance teams to ensure effective budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.
10. Provide leadership and mentorship to senior management teams to support talent development and organizational capability.
