TITLE: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (KOREA PORTOFOLIO)

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Business Development Manager for the Korea portfolio is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing partnerships and funding opportunities from Korean donors, both governmental and private. This role will support Save the Children Indonesia’s strategic priorities by securing financial resources and fostering sustainable relationships with key stakeholders in Korea.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Partnership Development:

• Identify and establish strategic partnerships with Korean donors, including government agencies, private sector companies, foundations, and individual philanthropists.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key Korean stakeholders to secure funding and support for Save the Children Indonesia’s programs.

Proposal Development:

• Lead the development of high-quality proposals and concept notes for Korean donors, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and Save the Children’s strategic priorities.

• Collaborate with program teams to design and develop innovative project concepts that meet the needs of beneficiaries and attract donor interest.

Donor Engagement:

• Organize and participate in donor meetings, presentations, and events to showcase Save the Children Indonesia’s work and impact.

• Prepare and present regular reports, updates, and impact stories to donors to maintain and strengthen relationships.

Market Research and Analysis:

• Conduct market research to identify emerging funding opportunities and trends within the Korean donor landscape.

• Analyze and interpret donor funding priorities and guidelines to inform strategic planning and proposal development.

Capacity Building:

• Provide training and capacity-building support to program teams on donor requirements, proposal development, and reporting standards.

• Mentor and support colleagues in building strong relationships with Korean donors.

Collaboration and Networking:

• Work closely with the global Save the Children network to leverage resources, knowledge, and contacts for the Korea portfolio.

• Represent Save the Children Indonesia in relevant networks, forums, and working groups related to Korean donors and international development.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in business development, fundraising, or partnership management within the international development sector.

• Skills:

• Strong understanding of the Korean donor landscape, including government, corporate, and philanthropic sectors.

• Proven track record of securing funding from Korean donors and managing donor relationships.

• Excellent proposal writing, communication, and presentation skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Korean and English, both written and spoken.
