Job Description:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing contracts for provision of industrial process water supply solutions, with a focus on water recycling and reuse technologies. The position holder ensures that leads will be successfully turned into Water-as-a-Service contracts with multinational corporations and local conglomerates in [Indonesia]. The successful candidate will proactively engage with potential clients, conduct thorough market analysis, and lead the entire sales cycle from initial contact to contract award. This position reports to the [President Director Indonesia] of WaaS Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Market Development & Strategy

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify and analyze key industry trends, competitive landscapes, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies, including target account selection and value proposition development.
  • Present market analysis and strategic recommendations to the management team.

• Lead Generation & Qualification

  • Identify and qualify potential clients within the target industries.
  • Research and qualify potential OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) partners to support business growth.

• Client Relation Management

  • Proactively initiate and build strong relationships with prospective and existing clients and OEM partners through networking, client visits, and ongoing communication.

• Sales Process Management

  • Assess customers’ industrial water process needs through site visits and client interactions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal) in Europe and Asia to develop and deliver compelling proposals including feasibility studies.. Effectively present proposals to clients, addressing their concerns and demonstrating the value proposition of our WaaS offering.
  • Assess customers decision making process and engage with the stakeholders independently and together with our global sales organisation, acquire the required approvals for contract signing.

• Sales Forecasting & Reporting

  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and provide regular, high-quality sales reports to management

Key Experiences:

• At least 10 years of successful experience in business development, sales, or account management within the industrial water sector (e.g, water treatment, process water, wastewater). Business Development Manager

• Proven ability to manage long and complex sales cycle with multinational corporations, with a track record of successful revenue attainment.

• Successful track record in closing deals ideally in chemical or pharmaceutical industries.

• A good network of contacts with the manufacturing, engineering, and/or purchasing functions in multinational corporations operating in SE-Asia.

• Understanding of wastewater and process water treatment technologies including but not limited to ultra-filtration and reverse osmosis.

Key Competences:

• Relevant university degree (Master or Bachelor) is a must, e.g. chemical, environment, engineering.

• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.Strong computer literacy with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Power Point, Excel) is required.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to read and assess people.

• Problem solving & decision-making capabilities.

• Ability and willing to have travel as required for client meetings and site visits.

• Ability to work in a multicultural team.

• Having a growth mindset and the willingness to learn new knowledges or skills.
