Job Description:
We are looking for a Mechanical QC Inspector with expertise in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Lifting Gear Inspection to join our team in the marine industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical components, lifting equipment, and structural integrity within shipyards and marine projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct quality control inspections for mechanical systems, components, and lifting gear.
- Perform NDT inspections (UT, MT, PT, VT, RT) on structural and mechanical components.
- Inspect, test, and certify lifting equipment, including cranes, hoists, slings, shackles, and other rigging tools.
- Ensure compliance with marine industry standards (IMO, IACS, ABS, DNV, etc.).
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
- Identify and report non-conformities, recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure quality standards are met.
- Conduct load testing and ensure proper calibration of lifting gear.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical QC Inspector in the marine, shipbuilding, or offshore industry.
- Certified in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT Level II or III) (UT, MT, PT, VT, RT preferred).
- Experience in lifting gear inspection (LOLER certification is an advantage).
- Knowledge of ISO, ASME, AWS, API, and other industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and safety regulations in the marine industry.
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
