We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Laboratory to lead our laboratory operations and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the healthcare industry, particularly in laboratory services, with expertise in diagnostic testing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive innovation, optimize workflows, and maintain excellence in service delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Biology, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Medicine, or a related scientific discipline. A degree in Medicine (Medical Doctor) is preferred and will be considered an added advantage.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in laboratory operations, particularly in Molecular Biology, Genomic Technologies, Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, and Clinical Microbiology.
- Proficiency in quality management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 35001, and ISO 15189 standards, with demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining these standards.
- Strong understanding of biosafety management and occupational health and safety practices (K3).
- Experience in managing laboratory inventory, procurement, and equipment maintenance.
- Proven leadership skills with a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Experience in conducting laboratory audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction to the laboratory team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Developing and implementing laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001, ISO 35001, and ISO 15189.
- Managing laboratory resources, including inventory, procurement, and equipment maintenance, to ensure optimal efficiency and functionality.
- Overseeing biosafety management and occupational health and safety practices (K3) within the laboratory, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Leading and coordinating laboratory audits to assess compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Providing technical expertise in Molecular Biology, Genomic Technologies, Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, and Clinical Microbiology to support laboratory activities and research initiatives.
- Collaborating with other departments and external stakeholders to support research projects, clinical trials, and collaborative initiatives.
