Metso is seeking Senior Manager, Service Operations. This role is responsible for Safety, Quality, profitability and growth of the Field Service business for Metso within Indonesia. Working within the Service Operations structure and reporting to the Director, Service Operations Asia it includes responsibility for the financial results of the service offerings within Professional Services focusing mainly on Field service, Life Cycle Services and other productized offerings. This role will also manage after sales service support to all customers.

What Will You Do


  • Manage the Indonesia Field Service team to provide a safe, profitable, customer facing function which includes the following
    • Installation and commissioning of new equipment
    • Field service technical advice, supervision and labour during field service activities.
    • Managing the training and development of the field service team
    • Comprehensive product training to customers through the Metso Training Academy.
    • Technical field support for customer complaints and warranties
    • Full maintenance contracts



  • Maintain Service contract (Life Cycle Services – LCS), proposals and business development including the following
    • Collaborating closely with sales, service, product and process technology organizations, analyse Metso’s potential in the Indonesia region for maintenance service contract and ensure that the products and services are maximised in customer proposals
    • Ensure that the complexity, risk and our involvement of our service offerings to specific customers are in line with local experience and competence within the regions
    • Work closely with Global and local teams to create detailed estimates and proposals for maintenance service contracts and Ad-Hoc spot service.
    • Work closely with Sales team to promote and secure the maintenance service contract business, including customer and site visits.
    • Work closely with the marketing department to develop and implement a marketing plan for the service business



  • Development of service best practices throughout the region including the following
    • Processes and procedures for handling maintenance service contract
    • Processes and procedures for Installation and Commissioning projects
    • Monthly reporting of service results



  • Implementation of Service Business Development plan for Indonesia including the following
    • Work closely with the Director, Service operations, capital and aftermarket teams in APA to help to develop a strategy for growing the service organisation in line with the global and regional strategies & implement that strategy
    • Work closely Metso training academy to develop a comprehensive training program for service personnel for all the products
    • Work closely with HR in the recruitment of suitable resource to satisfy demand
    • Work with HSE department to develop the Health and Safety program in line with the additional requirements for contracts
    • Work closely with the Service Managers to develop a strategic service partner network for additional services required e.g. Labour, Maintenance Strategies, Reliability Engineering.
    • Control occupational safety & health and quality system policies and procedures


    As an employee of Metso Indonesia, the employee is required to be aware of the responsibilities under the relevant HSE regulations in each country in Asia by :

    • Provide clean, healthy and safe working environment for all employees, visitors and subcontractors
    • Ensure a documented management systems for OH&S and QA is maintained
    • Ensure Metso complies with the relevant state OH&S legislations by adhering to established company OHS policy and procedures
    • Assist in the preparation of rehabilitation program for all reporting employees injured at work
    • Ensure the Company’s Risk Management Program is maintained
    • Ensure both the OH&S and QA Management systems are monitored and reviewed regularly
    • Consult with employees on all OH&S matters affecting the work place
    • Participate in QA and OH&S Management Review meetings as required.
    • Report all accidents, near misses and hazards.
    • Wear the provided personal protective equipment when appropriate and required.

  • At least 5 years’ relevant industry and position experience
  • Typically university (degree) level
  • Proven track record in the construction or mining related industry
