  • Assist bartenders during busy hours to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a professional manner.
  • Promote upselling and recommend drinks or specials to enhance customer experience.

2. Staff Supervision & Training

  • Supervise and support bartenders, barbacks, and servers in daily tasks.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and onboarding new staff.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, promotions, and service expectations.
  • Ensure staff adhere to service standards, drink recipes, and company policies.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Maintain a positive and motivating work environment to encourage teamwork.

3. Inventory & Cost Control

  • Monitor stock levels of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and other bar supplies.
  • Coordinate with the Bar Manager to place orders and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Track usage and prevent excessive wastage to control costs.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and assist in monthly inventory audits.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all bar products to maintain quality.

4. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure the bar operates in compliance with local, state, and federal alcohol laws and health regulations.
  • Enforce responsible alcohol service policies, preventing over-serving and underage drinking.
  • Ensure the bar area is always clean, organized, and adheres to hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Train staff on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and proper alcohol handling.
  • Maintain all bar equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.

5. Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Assist with cash handling, till reconciliation, and ensuring accurate transaction records.
  • Monitor bar revenue and work with management to increase profitability.
  • Assist in planning and executing promotions, events, and drink specials to boost sales.
  • Provide daily reports on sales, stock usage, and any operational issues to management.
  • Manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage while controlling labour costs.
