Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Vice President of Hotel Operations to lead and manage the operations of their extensive hotel portfolio across Indonesia. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence and delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring the financial success and growth of the hotels. This role demands an individual who can provide strategic leadership, foster operational efficiencies, and maintain the highest standards of quality, service, and profitability.

The Vice President of Hotel Operations will report directly to the Group’s Senior Leadership and will have overall accountability for the performance and success of the hotels in the region. This position is instrumental in driving operational strategies, developing and mentoring leadership teams, and ensuring the continued success of our esteemed brand across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Leadership: Lead, manage, and supervise the operations of 50+ four-star hotels and resorts across Indonesia, ensuring consistency in service quality, guest satisfaction, and financial performance.
  2. Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement operational strategies and business plans to achieve the overall goals of the company in the region. This includes driving profitability, operational efficiency, and brand positioning.
  3. Financial Performance: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial management of the hotels, ensuring that each property meets or exceeds profitability and revenue targets.
  4. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a diverse team of hotel general managers and operational leaders, fostering a high-performance culture, talent development, and succession planning.
  5. Guest Satisfaction: Ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction across all properties, implementing quality control measures, and responding to feedback and complaints promptly.
  6. Brand Standards and Compliance: Ensure compliance with the company’s brand standards, quality guidelines, and legal/regulatory requirements. Drive a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  7. Collaboration with Corporate Teams: Work closely with corporate support teams (e.g., marketing, sales, human resources, finance) to align operational activities with company-wide objectives and brand strategies.
  8. Operational Efficiencies: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes and systems to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
  9. Risk Management: Oversee health and safety compliance, crisis management, and overall risk mitigation efforts at all hotels under your supervision.

Key Requirements:

  1. Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a Regional Director, Area Director, or multi-unit General Manager role within a 4-5 star hotel group in Asia. Proven track record of overseeing all operational departments, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and finance.
  2. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop senior-level management teams. A proven ability to manage diverse teams across multiple locations.
  3. Financial Acumen: In-depth knowledge of hotel financials, including P&L management, budgeting, and cost control. Demonstrated experience in driving profitability while maintaining high service standards.
  4. Cultural Competency: Experience working in Indonesia or similar ASEAN markets with a deep understanding of local cultural nuances, business practices, and consumer behavior.
  5. Operational Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, with a focus on efficiency, guest satisfaction, and quality assurance.
  6. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Strategic Vision: A strategic thinker with the ability to drive long-term business growth, align operational goals with company objectives, and foster innovation in hotel management.
  8. Educational Background: A degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
