Job Summary

In this role, you will design and create high-quality character and object rigs for animation, ensuring smooth and realistic movements that bring our 3D models to life.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain rigs for 3D characters, creatures, and props, ensuring they are optimized for game production.
  • Work with animators to ensure rigs function properly and support the animation process.
  • Perform skinning and weight painting, ensuring correct deformation and realistic movement.
  • Implement inverse kinematics (IK) and forward kinematics (FK) systems for character rigs.
  • Collaborate with the art team to integrate rigs into the game engine (Unity, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot rigging and skinning issues and make necessary adjustments to improve performance and quality

Requirements

  • Min 5years proven experience as a Rigging Artist in the video game industry or a similar field.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of rigs (characters, creatures, vehicles, or props) for game production.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software
  • Experience with skinning, weight painting, and character deformation techniques.
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine, and knowledge of how rigs interact with them.
  • Solid understanding of anatomy and character movement for organic and hard-surface models.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, MEL, or similar) to automate rigging tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • A good understanding of game development pipelines and real-time performance considerations.
