The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the 900 lps drinking water treatment plant, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and adhering to the company's strict ethics, compliance, and safety policies.
Key responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the water treatment plant, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency
Manage and develop a team of 60 employees across various functions, including operations, maintenance, quality control, finance, HR, and EHS
Ensure compliance with local and international water quality standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols
Develop and implement strategic plans to improve plant performance, reduce costs, and increase productivity
Manage the plant's budget and financial performance, including cost control and resource allocation
Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and ensure compliance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in water treatment processes
Ensure adherence to the company's ethics and compliance policies throughout all operations
Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies for the facility
Report regularly to senior management on plant performance, challenges, and opportunities
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in water treatment or utility operations, with at least 5 years in a management role
Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, quality control, and regulatory requirements in Indonesia
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a large staff
Proven track record in operational excellence and process improvement in medium to large-scale operations
Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English (both written and spoken)
Demonstrated commitment to ethics, compliance, and safety in previous roles
Familiarity with Indonesian labor laws and regulations
Other Qualifications
Experience working for a multinational utility company
Knowledge of ISO standards and international best practices in water treatment
Experience in implementing and managing digital transformation initiatives in utility operations
Track record of successful change management in a medium-sized organization
