Responsibilities

  1. Assist statistical data processing and analysis, especially processing raw data from various sources and regional levels and implementing data validation and quality control procedures.
  2. Support the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) methodology, including performing statistical computations for all indicators in the index and assisting the validation of statistical results.
  3. Contribute to database development and support the design of the Indonesia Blue Economy Dashboard. This includes organising and structuring data from multiple sources, creating statistical algorithms for real-time data processing, and building robust data validation and quality control mechanisms.
  4. Assist the training material development and support technical documentation, including preparing technical documentation for regional training sessions and developing statistical templates for regional implementations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, applied economics, applied statistics, or relevant studies.
  • Strong knowledge of economic modelling and economic forecasting.
  • Proficiency in building policy analytical tools such as policy indexing, policy scoring, or forecasting.
  • Strong analytical skills in statistical modelling and data processing methodology.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively in team works and with government or other relevant or related organizations.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is highly desirable.

General Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in development and/or applied economics, including works in areas of the blue economy.
  • Experience in building quantitative economic models and/or quantitative indicators or measures using robust methodology, is an advantage.
  • Experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders, including governments, companies, and non-governments institutions.

Specific Experience

  • Strong understanding in, and knowledge about, the Indonesia Blue Economy Roadmap, 2023 (i.e. the Peta Jalan Ekonomi Biru Indonesia, 2023).
  • Familiarity with the blue economy analytical framework and the pillars of it, which are economic, environment, and social.
  • Experience in technical statistical and data-computation to generate a complex yet effective and efficient policy analytical and forecasting tool.
  • Experience data generation method in Indonesia at various levels (i.e., at national or sub-national level).
