PURPOSE

  • Market Development Agronomist (MDA) is the territory crops and products expert to support Bayer products launch successful with clear technical and value positioning/points, to take the technical service and support for all launched products.
  • MDA as the collector and interpreter of the needs from customers, influencers and channel partners to finalize our products localization/value proposition through collecting sufficient and qualify data from the field trials,
  • MDA need to set up and transmit the products confidence from internal to external through master demos, BLC and on/off-line training, et.al

KEY TASKS

  • Using our pipeline, market strategy, and regional crop targets as a foundation, develop the territory VPT, master demos, and customized solution plans.
  • Contribute to protocol design, trial execution, and summary reporting to address local TP and VP for the products.
  • Take ownership of specialized local targets/segments by creating tailored solution proposals, designing protocols, and validating recommendations.
  • Manage data, conduct quality reviews, and ensure timely submission of trial results.
  • Establish and document the local/territorial knowledge transfer (KT) process. Develop the KT plan through VPT, BLC, training sessions, and standard demo yards.
  • Deliver technical support and training in agronomic practices and product knowledge to commercial teams, strategic retail partners, and large-scale farmers.
  • Supervise the design of squad demos/channel demos, analyzing data and feedback for insights.
  • Support provincial/territorial product launches, marketing campaigns, and governance initiatives.
  • Gather insights on farmers' needs and identify new market opportunities.
  • Serve as the technical expert for the territories, offering consultation on phyto-toxicity and evaluating efficacy complaints.

Skills & Requirements

Technical Knowledge:

  • Expertise in crop agronomy, management, and intervention strategies.
  • Proficiency in field trial design, planning, execution, data collection, quality control/assurance, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with crop protection (CP) technology.

Product Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of CP products, agricultural practices, and market trends in Indonesia.
  • Ability to train and effectively communicate product value, key differentiators, and unique selling points (USPs) to sales teams and distribution channels.
  • Basic knowledge of common customer complaints and appropriate solutions.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture.
  • 5–8 years of experience in field trials and the agricultural industry.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and computer applications.
  • Experience in conducting training for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills.
