FUNCTION: Forestry Segment Manager
LOCATION: Jakarta, Indonesia
JOB TYPE: Permanent
ROLE SENIORITY: Non-managerial
GET TO KNOW YOUR AREA:
This role leads the forestry business in Indonesia, driving strategy to achieve sustainable growth while meeting financial targets. Responsibilities include managing sell-in, sell-out, and product consumption, ensuring commercial excellence through channel and stock management, and fostering strong relationships with plantation companies and channel partners. It emphasizes portfolio leadership, marketing campaign execution, market insights, and risk mitigation, while ensuring compliance and achieving sales targets through efficient governance and strategic planning.
YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:
Operations & Strategy
- To lead the forestry business in Indonesia to drive business strategy for achieving above market & sustainable growth while ensuring meeting IGM , EBITA, price as per budget commitments
- Manage driving Sell-in, Sell-out & consumption of products in forestry companies.
- Ensure commercial excellence with proper channel management – AR & DSO and sales planning. Collaborate with supply chain on stock planning with optimal stocks and managing working capital.
Customer Relationships
- Lead in the relationships & engagement with plantation companies & channel partners to drive growth. Collaborate and guide the sales team for tender and bidding process of plantation companies.
- Identify and prioritize the key plantations for deployment of resources. Plan & execute Stakeholder engagement and mapping.
Product Development & Portfolio
- Establish leadership within Forestry segment portfolio and continuously explore opportunities to expand the portfolio through portfolio gap analysis
Marketing & Campaigns
- Engage with marketing team to define and execute the marketing campaigns & demand generation activities (DGA) for the expansion of business & achievement of deliverables
Commercial Excellence
- Ensure that dashboards continuously updated with data on sell-in, sell-out and consumption at customer levels with efficient distributor and key account relationship management from team
- Capture market insight and competition (i.e., distributor price, stock, program promotion and distribution) to the commercial business manager.
- Identify trends, market situation & prepare for risk mitigation arising from competition, macroeconomic or customer situation
Governance
- Ensure adherence of commercial & compliance policy and execute the strategy for Achievement sales target in respected area.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
- Internal: – Country head, Commercial Manager, Plantation Segment manager, Business Support, Marketing team, technical services manager. 3rd Party staff .
- External: Plantation companies (forestry) - Procurement, R&D, Quality control, estate management teams), Distributors, sub distributors, research institutions, Industry Associations, FSC.
ARE YOU READY FOR THE ROLE?
Main requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from any major university with subject of agriculture (plant protection, agronomy, veterinary), plantation, forestry shall be preferable
- 10+ years related experiences in reputed companies for inputs sales & marketing to Plantation & forestry companies.
- Commercial & technical Knowledge of the market and landscape on forestry companies especially Herbicides
- Good skill on interpersonal, communication and relationship building.
- Proactive, Result oriented with good analytical thinking, self-reliant with strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skill
- Should have ability to analyze the market need and showcase entrepreneurial approach
