Position Summary

The Electrician is responsible for ensuring that the electrical systems and equipment in the workshop facility function optimally, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. This position will perform installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of all electrical systems within the workshop area.

Duties & Responsibilities

These are critical tasks that must be performed to ensure the smooth operation of the workshop:

  • Maintenance and Repairs
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems, including electrical panels, generators, and workshop lighting.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues in workshop machinery and equipment.
  • Identify and replace damaged or outdated electrical components.
  • Installation and Modifications
  • Install wiring, electrical panels, outlets, and lighting systems as required in the workshop.
  • Upgrade or modify electrical systems to improve efficiency and operational safety.
  • Assist in installing new equipment that requires electrical connections.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Safety
  • Ensure that all electrical work is performed in accordance with safety standards and government regulations.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures when handling electrical systems.
  • Report potential electrical hazards and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Workshop Operational Support
  • Provide technical support to the operational team regarding electrical aspects.
  • Ensure that all supporting systems, such as lighting, HVAC systems, and backup power (UPS/generator), function properly.
  • Coordinate with vendors or external contractors for complex repairs.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of a vocational high school diploma (SMK) or associate degree (D3) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in industrial electrical work or facility maintenance.
  • Possession of electrical certification (e.g., SIO K3 Electrical or other relevant certifications).

DESIRED

  • Strong understanding of industrial and building electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
  • Proficiency in using electrical measuring tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers.
