Position Summary

The Welder is responsible for performing welding work on various types of materials in accordance with technical specifications and applicable safety standards. This position requires skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate welding methods, and ensuring the quality of the final product.

Duties & Responsibilities

These are critical tasks that must be performed to ensure the smooth operation of the workshop:

  • Perform welding tasks on various materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Determine the appropriate welding method based on material type and thickness.
  • Prepare material surfaces before welding, including cleaning, cutting, and aligning components.
  • Utilize different welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, SMAW, and FCAW as needed.
  • Inspect and ensure welding quality meets established standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and ensure tools are in optimal condition.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Coordinate with the production team and supervisors regarding schedules and work requirements.
  • Document and report work results and any potential issues to the supervisor.

Non-essential

These tasks are not critical to workshop operations but support overall efficiency:

  • Assist the production team with other tasks as needed.
  • Participate in additional training to enhance technical and safety skills.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area and ensure materials are stored properly.

Ensure that Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Healt,Safety, Environmental, and Quality System.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum high school diploma (SMK) in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing welding.
  • Welding certification (e.g., AWS, ASME, or ISO 9606) is preferred.
  • Understanding of various welding methods and their applications on different materials.

DESIRED

  • Ability to read technical drawings and welding specifications.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and angle gauges.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • High awareness of workplace safety.
