Head of Sales - Surgical

Successfully manage a designated Business sector towards profit by maximizing the sales and margin revenue, through the management of the sales & marketing teams. Sets, evaluates and achieves sales objectives and marketing strategies according to business overall objectives and policies.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Devise and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for responsible product portfolios, ensuring alignment with overarching business goals and market dynamics.
  • Formulate, coordinate and realize the commercial objectives, and cascade it into go-to-market strategies, operational strategies, marketing strategies, and sales activities, as part of the business plan, in order to meet the organization objectives regarding market positioning, sales, market share, and efficiency in the short, medium, and long term.
  • Lead the commercialization initiatives for responsible product portfolio, encompassing market evaluation, pricing tactics, product launch strategies, and post launch monitoring.
  • Spearhead revenue growth and market infiltration through astute strategies
  • Monitor execution of the plans for the products mix and cycle, making corrective decisions appropriate to rectify any identified gaps in business and products priorities.
  • Evaluate and devise suitable direct and indirect business models to optimize market outreach, revenue generation, and customer relationships while streamlining distribution channels.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to flexibly adjust country strategies and maintain the Business Sector’s competitive advantage amidst evolving market dynamics.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with key stakeholders, including HCP, KOL, and distributors.
  • Develop & Monitor KPIs to gauge the efficacy of commercial strategies, business progress, activities in the short, medium, and long term.
  • Plan, execute and monitor effectively potential new product launches, being the leading individual.
  • Fully develop and drive company products strategy through a brand team approach and a strong cross-functional execution of tactical activities.
  • Hold accountability and responsibility for allocated financial aspects of responsible Business Sectors (forecast, expenditure, sales revenue, margin goals)
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture conducive to individual growth and the attainment of collective target.
  • Cultivate, develop, and mentor a high-performing commercial team.
  • Create/maintain a working environment that stimulates and motivates and employees, providing direction to employee and promoting a good mutual communication and teamwork.
  • Develop team members to ensure succession and talent management is effective in place to secure business continuity and employee satisfaction/motivation.

Education

  • Degree in Pharmacy, Biology, and Medicine (life-Science Degree) plus degree level or equivalent in a business related subject Economic, Business Administration and Marketing would be beneficial.

Experience

  • Experience at multinational company is highly desired
  • 10 - 15 years of successful in-depth sales and marketing experience gained within the medical device/pharmaceuticals industry in, with a focus on increment revenue and growth, market/business development and customer engagement.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing a direct sales or product team.
  • Relevant Sales experience in Regional/National Sales.
  • Knowledge in medical devices specifically for intraocular lens/ophthalmology/microscophe equipment is preferable
  • Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively manage business and P&L to meet objectives.
  • Experience in strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management.
  • Experience and success in recruiting and retaining a high-performance sales team and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse sales team
