Your Future Role
As a Blasting Painting Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the Blasting and Painting process to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and according to specified quality standards. You will work closely with production management to designate workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure the sequence of work assigned in fabrication stations is followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor daily blasting and painting operations (before, during and after), ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and specification standards.
- Collaborate with production management to define and manage work priorities and sequences in fabrication stations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to painting process quality, production velocity, equipment, tools, or process failures.
- Lead a team of Coordinators and Blaster/Painter personnel, ensuring work is performed in accordance with customer requirements, regulations and procedures.
- Prevent delays in the painting process and provide instruction to employees when needed.
- Oversee the entire painting process, ensuring work is completed on time and within specification and in good quality.
- Prepare and maintain daily progress reports and other reports as required.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a Technical Discipline (or Senior High School with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing industries, with a background in plate fabrication or heavy industries.
- Holding recognize Certification (BGAS, NACE or equivalent) is a plus point.
- Strong Blasting Painting experience in mining equipment or fabrication (specifically in customized dump truck bodies, buckets, or ancillary products used in the mining industry) and on small parts to big parts.
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings and understanding blasting and painting defects and deep knowledge on how to repair or avoiding the defect to re-occur.
- Familiar with Paint brand manufacturer and in deep knowledge on its system requirements
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Proficient in computer applications; familiarity with inspection certificates such as Welding Inspection, Coating Inspection, or Other required Painting Inspection.
- Experience in developing and deploying standard work processes for fabrication and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ability to develop and perform Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Project Specific Procedures in line with client and code requirements.
- Good collaboration with other dept. i.e.: Quality Dept. HSE, etc.
