Responsible in assisting the implemention, maintaining and improving regional Environmental and Social (E&S) management system in accordance with the ib vogt’s corporate policies and international standards (e.g. the Equator Principles IV, the IFC Performance Standard, and the IFC General EHS Guidelines) & understanding of local Indonesia's Environmental and Social requirements and standards.
Job Description
- Assist in establishing and maintaining robust regional E&S long-term and short-term objectives including policies, procedures, and work plans to contribute to the achievement of ib vogt’s ESG vision and mission.
- Assist in implementing E&S management system in accordance with the prevailing regulations, international standards and ib vogt’s strategy.
- Assist in ensuring that all E&S instruments and tools are implemented in the region, and the appropriate mitigation measures are proposed and met.
- Assist in identifying ESG challenges, opportunities, priorities and needs for the implementation of the related ib vogt’s procedures and instruments.
- Oversee, monitor, and report on Project E&S standards and requirements established respectively by the local requirements & permititng, and the international standards such as the IFC Performance Standards.
- Document and communicate any outstanding or emerging gaps between Project performance and the IFC requirements and related E&S risks and opportunities.
- Review and collaborate with cross-functional teams with the submission, monitoring, and reporting on the relevant Project-related E&S permitting process for the Projects, specifically in Indonesia.
- Advise and instruct the development of the Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), depending on the categorisation of the Project such as the Stakeholder Engagement Plan and Grievance Redress Mechanism, Labour Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan, etc., if applicable.
- Ensure the implementation of e.g., Project Livelihood Restoration Action Plan, Biodiversity Action Plan, Chance Find Procedure, and the Free, Prior and Informed Consent and others by the Project team, where applicable.
- Perform and ensure the spot checks, and supervision and monitoring field visits at Project sites are conducted and ensure the implementation of correction measures.
- Compile quarterly and annual reports on Project E&S risks, impacts, and mitigation measures.
- Carry out training and capacity building programmes on E&S standards/ tools/frameworks for project personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Advise the Project Main EPC Contractors in ensuring that E&S standards are incorporated into their contracts and for them to conduct the statutory E&S monitoring and reporting during construction phase.
- Monitor regional offices ESG performance including data collection and reporting.
- Contribute to regional ESG analysis to identify systemic issues and assess trends, including propose the internal ESG policies/procedures adjustments as needed.
- Contribute to regional supervision ESG reviews and periodic reports.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in environmental/ health/ safety/social development or equivalent.
- At least seven (7) – ten (10) years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Preferably good understanding of local E&S requirements in APAC region specifically in Indonesia, the IFC Performance Standards and other international E&S best practices, and knowledge and experience in the sustainability reporting standards.
- Knowledge of E&S management plans, a self-starter, confident and able to engage well with people, and good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (verbal & written) and possesses good report writing skills
- Knowledge on international E&S database e.g., IBAT and other assessment tool.
