Job Description: Media and Content Engagement

Focus: Media Relations, Content Design, and Video/Media Kit Creation

Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Media and Content Engagement to join our non-profit organization. The Media and Content Engagement will play a key role in promoting our mission and enhancing our public image by managing media relations, developing the creation of compelling design and video content, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality media kits. This position will also collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure that all media materials align with the organization's branding and messaging.

Key Responsibilities:

Media Relations & Outreach

- Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and media outlets to promote the organization’s mission, programs, and events.

- Serve as the primary media contact, handling inquiries, press releases, media advisories, and interviews.

- Pitch stories to local, national, and international media to gain positive coverage for campaigns and initiatives.

- Organize and manage media coverage for key events and press conferences, ensuring accurate and effective representation of the organization.

- Monitor and analyze media coverage, preparing reports for leadership on media impact and reach.

Content Development & Storytelling

- Work with program staff to gather stories, data, and testimonials that can be used in media outreach, publications, and digital content.

- Write press releases, media kits, blog posts, and other written content that conveys the organization’s mission and achievements in a compelling way.

- Assist with crafting speeches, scripts, and talking points for media appearances or public events.

Design (Internal & External Communication)

- Develop the creation and design of communication and contents including copywriting materials, ensuring they are on-brand, visually appealing, and aligned with organizational messaging.

- Collaborate with graphic designers, photographers, and videographers to produce marketing collateral such as brochures, annual reports, newsletters, and social media visuals.

- Work closely with the marketing and communications team to ensure consistency in brand messaging across all platforms.

Video/Media Kit Production

- Plan, produce, and manage video projects that highlight the organization’s impact, including interviews, event recaps, and program spotlights.

- Develop and create media kits that can be distributed to the press, donors, and partners, showcasing key organizational information, visuals, and success stories.

- Coordinate with videographer and designer to ensure high-quality production of videos or contents for fundraising campaigns, events, and social media channels.

- Archive and maintain a library of multimedia content, including photos, videos, and design assets, for use in future campaigns.

Collaborations & Partnerships

- Collaborate with internal teams, including development and programs, to ensure communication materials reflect the goals and impact of the organization.

- Liaise with external partners, including sponsors and stakeholders, to develop co-branded media and design projects.

- Support cross-departmental projects that require media or design coordination, such as annual reports, donor communications, and social media campaigns.

Key Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, media studies, public relations, or a related field.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or communications, preferably in the non-profit sector.

- Experience in design and creative projects, including familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

- Proven ability to develop and manage relationships with media outlets and journalists.

- Strong experience in video production, including storyboarding, filming, and editing.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
