Job Overview
The Program / Project Manager (PM) plays a major role in developing and shaping programs / projects, managing and building long-term client relationships and understanding the “big picture” in business. The Program Manager is the “chief operating officer” of the team and makes sure the team member know what they need to do and when and how much time they have to do the work.
- To successfully manage programs from start to completion;
- is responsible for partnering with the internal team (sales, engineering, operations, new business and finance) to ensure that work is delivered on strategy, on time and on budget.
- Jointly responsible for the P&L for the program with the Account Manager with primary responsibility for development costs.
Essential Job Functions
The Program / Project Manager (PM) is the main point of contact to the delivery team and a key client contact during the life of a project; the sales lead and leads the internal team to scope and set up the engagement correctly, to deliver multiple projects on time, on margin and to the appropriate quality and is responsible for the tactical deliverables of each work stream in the implementation phase, including:
- Develop and manage of scope of work and program timelines with GM. Work closely with the GM to ensure that all the appropriate resources and plans are in place to deliver all projects.
- Conduct kick-off meeting and regular review meetings to ensure programs are on track and meeting CRD or VCD
- Propose projects based on feasibility study and justification
- Working closely with Sales, Program manage customer onboarding and new business across engineering, operations (including the RFQ process), new business development and finance
- Develop & implement project governance including key project performance metrics and may work outside normal office hour and indicators to ensure project management improvements are highly visible via weekly and monthly reports
- Follow up with respective project owners when there is deviation from schedule, and may work outside normal office hours
- Support GM in achieving revenue goals by reducing conversion time from project won to purchase order (PO)
- Participate in new business calls as appropriate to help develop the value proposition
Key Qualifications and desirable experience
- Holds a recognized Degree
- Fast response time to Sales or Customer enquiries
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Three (3) years experience in program management roles in manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite
