Sea Creatures Diving is a scuba diving center located in Labuan Bajo, NTT providing daily trips to the Komodo National Park. We’re looking for a Communication & Sales Specialist who can answer online customer inquiries in a timely and accurate fashion. This person will always be working to close the sale and provide our potential customers with the highest level of service. They should be able to communicate in a way that is personable, fun, informative, and professional. Writing skills are a must, and they should be able to communicate exceptionally well in English, and additional languages are a big plus.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Communication or Marketing (or similar) and have an interest in scuba diving. They should be comfortable working in Excel, Word and/or Google Sheets, Docs and be capable of keeping themselves organized. They should be self motivated and willing to collaborate with other team members. They must be willing to relocate to Labuan Bajo.

You do not need to be an expert on diving or even certified as a diver to excel in this position, but an interest in diving is crucial. In this position, you will have the opportunity to dive frequently and continue (or start) your dive training because we believe that understanding diving in Komodo will make you better at the job.

Job Responsibilities:

  • ⁠Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, WhatsApp, Social Media, and other messaging platforms
  • Communicate with potential customers in an informative and fun manner
  • ⁠⁠Provide detailed information about our services, pricing, policies, and availability in a way that focuses on our strengths
  • Listen to customers and create packages for them that address their specific needs
  • Facilitate online payments for customers
  • Process reservations, modifications, and cancellations accurately and track them using the proper methods (spreadsheet, POS, etc)
  • ⁠⁠Monitor and follow up on pending inquiries to maximize conversions
  • Become a trusted advisor to our customers by answering questions in an informative, honest, and trustworthy manner
  • Communicate daily sales to management
  • ⁠⁠Coordinate with internal teams (operations, front office, etc.) to ensure smooth guest experiences
  • ⁠⁠Manage reservation records and maintain organized documentation
  • Handle customer complaints and escalate issues when necessary
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction
  • Communicate to management when improvements need to be made to better serve our customers and improve our offering
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager

Requirements:

  • Degree in Communications, Marketing or similar
  • Previous experience in sales, travel, or similar fields is a plus, but not required
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
  • A customer-first mindset and willingness to go above and beyond to exceed customer expectations
  • Interest in diving and willingness to learn more
  • Fluent in English, additional language skills are a big plus
  • Advanced computer skills are must
  • Ability to perform tasks in Excel, Word, Google Sheets or Google Docs
  • Positive attitude and a desire to socialize with guests; sense of humor a big plus
  • Flexible, proactive, self-motivated with excellent teamwork
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with challenging situations
