Data Center Engineers are responsible for designing and maintaining the vital infrastructure of a data center, including servers, networks, and telecommunications equipment.
Job Description
About the Role:
- Design, maintain, and manage the internal server configurations and data center operations, including ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of the production systems
- Maintain server equipment and hardware, perform system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software-related problems
- Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability, modifying system parameters to maximize high availability and performance
- Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices
- Provide Infrastructure services: storage networking, operating system, network security, directory services, server virtualization, system backup and restore, including respond to system emergencies as needed
- Proven work experience as a Data Center Engineer or similar role in IT
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, and integrity
- Familiarity with various operating systems and databases
- Network certification, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar
- Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
- Experience with network protocols and network management systems
