- Assist in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers both locally and globally (primarily in regions like China, Southeast Asia, etc). Evaluate them based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
- Support the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a primary point of contact for day-to-day supplier communications, handling queries, and ensuring alignment with company expectations for quality, pricing, and delivery.
- Assist in the creation, tracking, and management of purchase orders, ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment from suppliers.
- Assist in negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers, ensuring that contracts and agreements are in place to protect the company’s interests.
- Work with the sourcing team to identify international suppliers, particularly in Chinese-speaking regions (e.g., China, Taiwan), and ensure proper communication and coordination.
- Help coordinate the global logistics process, ensuring timely delivery and managing transportation logistics with suppliers and freight forwarders.
- Monitor the supply chain to identify any potential disruptions or delays, and work with logistics and teams to resolve issues promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, International Trade, or any degree with related experiences (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, with exposure to both global and local markets. Experience in supplier communication, purchase orders, and basic contract management is preferred.
- Language: Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is required for communication with Chinese and Mandarin-speaking suppliers. Proficiency in English is essential for internal communication and documentation.
- Understanding of basic sourcing, procurement, and vendor management processes, including cost analysis, contract negotiations, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Basic understanding of global logistics and shipping processes, including customs, lead times, and delivery tracking.
- Familiarity with procurement software, and Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate data entry and supplier information tracking.
- Ability to assist in resolving supplier-related issues, such as delays, quality concerns, and logistics problems.
- Familiarity with Chinese suppliers and the unique challenges of sourcing from China, such as quality control, shipping logistics, and local regulation
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, tariffs, and logistics challenges, particularly related to global sourcing from China and other regions.
- Occasional travel to supplier sites (both local and international) may be required, depending on business needs.
