Job Description: Business Banking Sustainability Specialist
Segment: Wholesale Banking (Corporate and Commercial Banking)
Role Overview:
The Business Banking Sustainability Specialist will play a key role in driving the bank's sustainable finance initiatives within the Wholesale Banking segment, including Corporate and Commercial Banking. The incumbent will be responsible for originating, structuring, and managing ESG-related deals, ensuring alignment with banking frameworks, and supporting the integration of sustainability considerations into business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Originate and Structure ESG Deals:
- Becoming the product partner of the business units in the sustainable finance.
- Identify and originate green loans, Sustainability-Linked Loans (SLLs), social loans, and other ESG-related financing opportunities.
- Structure deals in accordance with industry best practices and the bank's sustainability frameworks, ensuring they meet regulatory and internal requirements.
Sustainability Due Diligence:
- Assist business units in conducting comprehensive sustainability due diligence on potential clients and projects, assessing ESG risks and opportunities.
- Ensure that all ESG factors are considered in the credit decision-making process.
Coordination and Focal Point for ESG Business:
- Serve as the liaison between the business units and other relevant departments including the Sustainability Governance, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Develop Loan Agreements and Marketing Materials:
- Draft and review loan agreements, ensuring they align with the industry best practices and the bank's sustainability frameworks.
- Create pitch decks and marketing materials to support the promotion of sustainable finance products and services.
Client Engagement and Partnerships:
- Pitch ESG solutions to existing and prospective clients, demonstrating the value of sustainable finance and its alignment with their business goals.
- Develop and manage partnerships with external stakeholders, including sustainability consultants, industry bodies, ESG rating agencies, etc.
Monitor and Manage Sustainable Finance Pipeline:
- Track and manage the pipeline of sustainable finance deals, ensuring timely execution and reporting.
- Monitor the performance of existing ESG deals and provide regular updates to senior management.
Expected Profile:
- Experience: A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in the financial advisory or banking sector, with a strong preference for candidates who have demonstrated interest or familiarity in sustainability and sustainable finance.
